THE PURPLE LIPSTICK

The lipstick is one of the most basic make-up items. It has different colours and shades such as red, pink, wine, nude, purple, etc. the different colours have their different shades that match the different skin tones and complexion.
The purple lipstick is edgy and chic though difficult to rock on an outfit or a red carpet event. To effectively rock this particular colour of lipstick, you would have to find the right shade that matches your complexion and skin tone.
A darker shade goes perfectly with the warm skin tone. It also goes for ladies that are fair in complexion while a lighter shade matches a dark complexioned lady.
Apart from selecting the right shade for your complexion, applying the purple lipstick is also very important in rocking the edginess. The use of a lip-liner helps in its perfect application. Considering the fact that it is a strange colour, too much of it should not be applied to avoid an unpleasant and ugly look.
You can however pull it off by following these dos and don’ts.

DOS.
  • -          Make sure the rest of your make-up is minimal. Purple is a bold colour that can and should stand on its own. Keep your face bare especially if you are light skinned.
  •            Go multidimensional. Purple lipstick can make lips look smaller, so dab a touch of gloss to make them look fuller than ever.
  • -           Keep your hair casual. Tug at your hair to unravel a couple of pieces for an ultra-chic look.
  • -          Mix and match. With lots of practice and wonderful blending skills, you can achieve a two-toned lip colour.

DON’TS.

  • -     Do not assume that any shade works for your skin tone.
  •       Never neglect the inside of your lips. Using a lip primer before applying the lipstick will ensure your hue sticks where it needs to.
  • -    Do not go for a severe look anywhere else. A large ponytail, huge hoop earrings and a dress in matching colours are not doing you any favours. Trust me; if you are going for purple, you want your lips to be the focus of your ensemble.
  • -   Too many things, all at once, is wrong. The braid, the smoky eye, the bright lips and the earrings? It’s a NO!

Following the Dos and Don’ts, you’d rock the edgy and chic purple lipstick any day, anytime, anywhere.
