U.S. CHANGES CLOCK ONE HOUR AHEAD
-          The United States turned its clock forward by one hour by 2am on the 12th of March, 2017.
-          The practice, known as Daylight saving Time, is often done during summer months.
-          This way, evening daylights lasts an hour longer while sacrificing normal sunrise times.
-          Likewise, the clocks would be turned an hour back to 1am on the 5th of November, 2017.

-          Oyo State Government has declared that all Herdsmen caught with guns would be treated as Criminals as well as extreme Religious Leaders.
-          A Committee known as OYSIREC was inaugurated on the 9th of March, 2017 with the sole aim of carrying out the above stated task in Oyo State.
-          The Committee comprises Religious, Ethnic and Community Leaders.
-          He stated that Religious Leaders rather than incite their members to hate, should encourage cleaning of the environment, respect for elders and people in Authority.
JAMB FINALLY BREAKS THE SILENCE
-          The JAMB is to begin sales of the 2017 UTME forms on the 20th of March, 2017.
-          This was disclosed by Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s Head of Public Relation.
-          He also disclosed that the exam would take place in May, 2017.
-          An optional Mock Exam would be organized by JAMB.

MONDAY MORNING IN UI
-          The long awaited Monday morning finally arrived with everyone looking out and putting their ears to the ground for any information about the impending triple strike, ASUU, NASU AND SSANU.
-          It however came as a shock and disappointment for some who had classes today and perhaps tests they had not read for over the weekend.
-          Certain faculties and departments were however under lock and key to the Joy of some students including the Almighty Chemistry Department.
-          Several deliberations are ongoing as to whether the strike would proceed full-blown or not.
-          As at now, the question still remains quite unanswered.
-          Till then, lectures continue in THE FACULTY OF VETERINARY MEDICINE.
HELMS OF LEADERSHIP IN UI
-          The University of Ibadan has on the 8th of March, 2017, elected Professor Adeyinka Aderinto as the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academics and Professor Adenike Adeyemo as DVC Research, Innovation and Strategic Partnership.
BAPTISM IN NNAMDI AZIKIWE HALL
-          If you have never heard of the Baptism in Zik Hall, you’re probably not a student of the University of Ibadan.
-          The legendary baptism of ‘Freshers’ into the Spirit of Zikism occurred at 8am on the day of their matriculation and lasted about one hour.
-          However, the some Naïve freshers did not show up for the event and stayed in their rooms preparing for the Matriculation
AVMS SENATE MEETS
-          The legislative council of the Association of Veterinary Medical Students, University of Ibadan meets last Saturday 4th of March 2017.
-          The sitting spanned from 10am in the morning till about 4pm in the evening.
-          Sacrosanct issues discussed include;
-          Dues increment by the executive council demanded to be defended before members of the noble association can proceed to pay.
