BALLON D'OR 2017: NEYMAR, MESSI AND RONALDO AMONG 30 NOMINEES

The full 30-man list includes seven Real Madrid players following their second successive Champions League win last season
Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi lead an illustrious list of 30 players nominated for the 2017 Ballon d'Or award.
The full list of top footballers was revealed across Monday by organisers France Football, with Champions League and La Liga winners Real Madrid dominating with seven nominees.
Following unprecedented back-to-back Champions League wins, Real Madrid star Ronaldo is joined on the roster by attackers Karim Benzema and Isco, defenders Sergio Ramos and Marcelo, and midfielders Toni Kroos and Luka Modric.

Neymar Demands Barcelona Be Kicked Out Of Champions League Over €26m Bonus Refusal

The dispute between the Catalan club and their former Brazilian forward over loyalty payments continues to rumble on. Neymar has called on UEFA to expel Barcelona from the Champions League in a dispute over an outstanding loyalty payment.

Nigeria qualify for World Cup as Ghana hopes fade

 


Nigeria became the first African team to qualify for the 2018 World Cup on Saturday after a 1-0 victory over Zambia. Alex Iwobi came off the bench and struck late in the second half as the Super Eagles soared to 13 points in Group B, finishing comfortably above Zambia, Cameroon and Algeria to secure their sixth appearance at the World Cup. With one match left to play, Nigeria can begin to look forward to their sixth appearance at the grandest stage of all. Other countries that have secured qualification include Iran, South Korea, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Mexico, Costa Rica, Brazil, Germany, Poland, England, Spain, Belgium and host Russia.
