FRANCE WINS THE 2018 WORLD CUP IN RUSSIA.

FRANCE 4- CROATIA 2

    

After the 90 minutes combat against the Croatians, France took the lead. The match which ended in a 4-2 win favoring the French was drawn out of serious chase starting from the group qualification matches and then to the knock out and finally to the Final.

France soundly defeated Croatia 4-2 in the World Cup final on Sunday, lifting the trophy for the first time since 1998.

While Croatia was in total control in the early minutes of the match, it was France who would strike first, when Antoine Griezmann struck a free kick into the box that caught the head of Croatian Mario Mandzukic for an own goal to give Les Bleus a 1-0 lead in the 18th minute.

Mandzukic heads it into his own net to give France the 1-0 lead.  Not long from the sad own goal by Mandzukic, came an equalizer by Ivan Perisic. The equalizer seems to steady the tension down the steep for the Croatians, which thereafter became tougher as goals came in from Paul Pogba, Griezmann and the 19-year-old wunderkind Kylian Mbappe, becoming the first teenager to score in a World Cup final since Pele. Hugo Lioris’ error gave Mandzukic another chance to push the ball into the net. The match that could have ended in 4-1 got on an average of 50% and ended 4-2. The Croatian and Real Madrid mid-fielder Modric, was featured in the Award as he claims the Golden ball and named the most valuable player of the tournament. Not leaving behind the wunderkid of the tournament, Kylian Mbappe was named the youngest player of the tournament. Chelsea and Belgium goal keeper was named the best goal keeper and handed the Golden Gloves for the tournament. Nwhile Harry Kane claimed the golden boat having scored 5 goals in the tournament.

Belgium got the Bronze over England after defeating them 2-0 in Russia.
