ASSOCIATION OF VETERINARY MEDICAL STUDENTS, UI SET TO HOLD HER 19TH ANNUAL DOG SHOW.

The Association of Veterinary Medical Students, University of Ibadan is set to hold her annual enormous crowd-pulling event in a few weeks’ time. The annual programme themed "Agent of Shield" is unarguably the largest and most anticipated canine event in the University community. The event attracts a myriad of spectators including dog owners, different pet-care dealers, dog lovers, security bodies, representatives from the Force, and the University community at large.

During the event, dogs are given opportunity to exhibit their extraordinary abilities and different beautiful breeds of dogs are showcased. In addition, the attendees of the programme are educated on the wonderful values of dogs, different breeds of dogs and distinct features of some selected dog breeds. The event also creates a platform for different organizations and professional bodies to showcase their products and services and to increase their popularity, among other things.

Over the years, the annual dog show has increased the popularity of the Veterinary profession, it has beautified the profession and has bridged the gap between the Veterinary profession and the general public. Spectators from different professional backgrounds are made to appreciate the profession and to see the virtues stuffed in it and its relevance to the community.

As a side-attraction, there is always a raffle draw which affords the spectators the chance of winning a lot of amazing prices, highest being a puppy of an exotic breed of dog. Also, participating dogs are given needed medications, feed and in addition the hematology test that the Association has promised to carry out on each dog participant.

As it has always been, this 19th edition of Dog Show promises to be a wonderful event. By attending, you will appreciate how dogs can be agents of shield, how they can be useful, wonderful, friendly, skillful and most especially, protective. You will be exposed to different breeds of dogs and how beautiful these animals can be. You just cannot afford to miss it!!!
