Duff in the oxford dictionary means an attractive woman, less attractive friend.

But what does a duff really mean?

Every group of friends have one, you’re the one who doesn’t look as good, thus making their friends look better, the one who is approachable and easy to talk to; and if you don’t know who it is, chances are it is YOU!.

As a duff, you necessarily don’t have to be fat or ugly, you can be downright cute, but your friends are totally gorgeous!

Guys can be duffs too!


The most important job of a duff, apart from being less attractive, is acting as the gateway to the better looking friends; a duff is the one people go to before approaching the better looking friends.


So if you don’t impress the duff, you’ll have no chance with his/ her friends unless maybe by divine intervention.

If the reason people want to talk to you 9 out of 10times is to talk about your friends, rather than talk about you, there is a greater chance that you have been duffed , without even realizing it.
