FACULTY OF VETERINARY MEDICINE BEATS AGRIC WITH ABOUT 5 POINTS IN THE BIGGEST DEBATE COMPETITION IN WEST AFRICA POPULARLY KNOWN AS JAWWAR.
.
Yes! The winter we have all been expecting is finally here and the war has begun. This time, it is not between the Army of The Dead and the Night Watch but amongst the great students of University of Ibadan. A war fought with wits not swords but words, not on the field but on the stage in front of audience. I am describing no other but our JAW WAR.
‘IS POST UTME RELEVANT FOR ADMISSION IN NIGERIAN TERTIARY INSTITUTION’?
As we all know that behind every debate, someone is always ignorant and that is why our dear Faculty of Veterinary Medicine was able to educate our distant cousins from the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry that post UTME is not relevant for admission into Nigerian Tertiary institutions. Adeoye Oluwatoyin, the chief speaker for Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, did not make her point understandable without asking the fate of a student who wishes to study Pharmacy but whose educational destiny is hung on post UTME and ends up as a farmer while the chief speaker for Faculty of Agriculture, Alabi Omolabake on the other hand asked for the fate of a student who is ’tsunamised’ after a session due to poor performance, she made it known that such student will have to walk out of the gate like a ghost. The supporting speaker for Faculty of VET was indifferent about the topic and could not hide his disappointments that while other countries in the world are battling with problems of modernity, Nigeria is battling with problems of admission process formality. How reasonable?
All in all, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine won Faculty of Agriculture and Foresty with 65.25 points to 60.75 points.
