DVM 2 STUDENTS ATTACK EACH OTHER ON WHATSAPP

On the 28th of September, 2018, at about 11:30pm, two close friends got into a tiff on the DVM2 WhatsApp group page as a result of something which was considered by most of the class as trivial and unworthy of attention.

One of the friends had sent a hideous throwback to the group page as a joke, tagging it, “See your MCM o,” with a laughing emoji. However, her friend did not appear to have found it funny at all, as he immediately responded with a long message full of all sorts of demeaning vituperations.

A part of this message goes thus;

“…You’re here trying to shade a young man who has obviously evolved leaving you behind in a cold, shallow and pointless world. When Dr Kayode was your age, he already knew what he was going to do with his life…. Let me tell you, all that parasitology won’t help, why teach a parasite parasitology? I am just like the camera I hold in that picture looking down at your short self… I just wish you were like your skin; bright. Anyway, you know I love you.”

All the members of the class who responded to the message felt it was unnecessarily insulting and childish. One commented, “It’s not even like the picture was bad, or she dissed him. Why did he have to write that?”

THE LIARS VERSUS THE TRUTHTELLER

When a certain DVM class got bored of receiving lectures from a particular lecturer who had exhausted her time period and was taking time out of the class’ free period to continue the lecture, one student spoke up, saying they were late for another course, ANS (Animal Science), a course which was scheduled for about four hours later. He was immediately backed up by quite a number of his course mates. However, after the lecturer expressed her apologies and stood up to leave, one of their course mates, who was sitting in the front row of seats, revealed the truth to her. After scolding the class, the lecturer continued the lecture. After the class, most of the students erupted in an uproar, condemning the truth teller and saying his action was unnecessary.
