Failure, hmm, one wants it many get it. It is that thing you can get without aspiring to receive, the singular evil that can paint any report card red and the wicked attorney that has sent some to their early graves. Read on and discover the pathogenesis of this disheartening ailment. Using the familiar method of categorizing diseases, let’s demystify this evil.

The most common cause of failure is laziness. Many students just fail to read and waste valuable time on less profitable things like watching TV, over-sleeping, spending too much time with cell phones, over-confidence, poor reading habits, lack of concentration, wrong choice of friends, fear for failing, and procrastination. However, you can fill the gap with the ones peculiar to you as they are not limited to this.

Now you want to ask, can failure be transmitted? Of course it can! Failure is transmitted by simply refusing to get up and move on with your life. People have failed before and will still fail so when you transfer your past into your present, you have succeeded in transmitting failure. It may even be transmitted from a previous set of students, like your immediate seniors, to you - something that may be termed vertical transmission. For instance, your seniors failed a particular course and you are already defeated even before writing the exam. By doing so, you have just transmitted failure to your own result.
Its Pathogenesis?
As many of our lecturers advocate to us, failure is a gradual process. It is indeed, a gradual process. However, some kinds of failure may come as a shock, just like waking up just to discover your phone is still on 3%. Failure builds in the body of man as amino acids join to form a specific protein. However, if timely detected and specific reparative measures are taken, just like mutation, the whole process gets destroyed.Characterized by?
The major and well known one is depression. Others include low self-esteem, unwillingness to try something new, fear of failing again, not believing in oneself and others.
After reading this, I hope you understand the reason for your past failures. I’m not going to prescribe Lasota or Gumboro vaccine as a prophylactic measure to you though, but the truth has a liberating effect on anyone who listens. You should stand up now, learn from your past experiences of failure, start planning for success and try your best in breaking the building process of failure.
