The senate chamber of the Association of Veterinary Medical Students (AVMS), University of Ibadan on Friday 23rd August, 2019 reinstated the association’s executive president after the latter had served 21 days suspension on account of gross misconduct. Subsequent to his reinstatement, the executive president, Mr Sanusi Oluwaseyi Solomon, was allowed to present his budget to the senate chamber and a sum of #338,000 was approved after extensive deliberation. Also during the sitting held on Friday, a senator in DVMIV constituency, Senator Oyewole Stephen, called the attention of the senate to the reinstatement of the suspended AVMS Editorial Board. It was then concluded by the chamber that if 50% of all members of the association can sign a petition for the reinstatement of the editorial board, the board’s suspension would be reversed. This conclusion, according to the Senate President, Senator Oluwadare Franklyn, is solely because the said board was suspended by the Congress of the association and only the Congress, the highest decision-making body, can effect their reinstatement.
