POEM

IT’S BEAUTY

You are not crescent
Neither are you spherical
But you are crescent
And you are spherical

Beauty lies in you
Beauty lies around you
Beauty radiates from you
You are an epitome of beauty

Like a pendant on the neck of a bride
Like a ship in the midst of the Atlantic
Like a tree in the Kalahari
So you stand out in the vast sky

You move about your territory
Like a proud landlord
Your position at a time
Tells the ancient what season it is

Sometimes you are big
Sometimes you are small
But no matter the time or season
You are big to those who are in love

So many names you have
According to your dealings
Some call you the moon
I call you the beauty of nature at night
