LIVERPOOL DEFEATED ARSENAL 3-1 AT ANFIELD TO REMAIN TOP IN THE 2019 ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE

The season has been great for Kloop and his men having seen through three straight wins with maximum nine points.

Mohamed Salah scored twice as Liverpool maintained their 100 per cent Premier League record by beating Arsenal 3-1 at Anfield.

Liverpool took the lead in the 41st minute, Sokratis Papastathopoulos and David Luiz distracted by Virgil van Dijk and leaving Matip to meet Trent Alexander-Arnold's right-wing delivery, with another corner from the full-back headed over by Mane before the break. Arsenal was unable to cope with Liverpool after the restart, David Luiz pulling back Salah in the box with the forward hammering the resulting penalty into the top-left corner.

Salah then spanned away from the Brazilian centre-back on Liverpool’s right flank, cut inside and slotted a trademark left-footed finish across Leno to make it 3-0.

Only Liverpool easing up prevented further Anfield misery for Unai Emery's men, with substitute Torreira beating an unsighted Adrian from inside the box for a late consolation.

Liverpool's victory means they have won 12 consecutive Premier League matches, breaking the club's record in the competition, while they are now up to 42 home league games without defeat.

Chelsea recorded a 3-2 win against Norwich, while Manchester united suffered a humiliating 1-2 defeat at Old Trafford to Crystal palace. Manchester united fans across the globe showed their dissatisfaction with the current state of the team as not good enough to compete for the 2019 EPL title. Rashford's Penalty miss could have rescued the Red Devils, but unfortunately it was thrown against the goal pole and not inside the net.

The two favourite competitors Liverpool and Manchester city are back on the pursuit for the title.

AVMS FOOTBALL TEAM DEFEATED, ON SLIM HOPE FOR QUALIFICATION

The Faculty of Veterinary medicine football team was unfortunate to have lost a deciding match to the next phase of the tournament to the Faculty of Renewable and Natural Resources by a lone goal. Optimism has risen alongside "not giving up" amongst players of the AVMS team to defeat the Faculty of Science who is their next opponent and the last match of the group stage of the 2019 Interfaculty tournament. "Should AVMS team defeat Science, while Art defeats Renewable, then we are good to go to the next phase of the tournament" is the talk of hope in the faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
