10 TIPS ON HOW TO ACHIEVE A MILLION DOLLAR LOOK WITH A FEW NAIRA: A CLASSY MAN ON A BUDGET

A man walks into a gathering and all heads are turned towards him automatically. This can either be because he looks really tattered or he looks classy. Then you take a closer look at the expression on their faces and you see a smile or maybe something as little as a smirk, then that gives you the answer of what he really looks like.

Dressing good should never be overlooked because it breeds a lot of advantages; confidence, warm acceptance, a lingering stare from a beautiful lady across the room. It is often said, “the way you are dressed is the way you would be addressed”. As cliché as that statement sounds, there is a lot of truth in it because a book is usually judged by its cover, despite the fact that we are warned not to do so. The first impression people have about you is 99.9 times based on how bad or good you are dressed.
So as a veterinary male student, you’ll be asking this question, “how am I supposed to dress classy when we are made to dress corporately and corporate attires are so expensive?” Dressing classy isn't equal to going bankrupt to have that pair of Louis Vuitton shoes or Gucci bags and wristwatches. If one can afford those, that’s amazing! But if you can’t, that gives you no right to dress badly. As a man, dressing is less complicated than that of a lady because with few clothes in your wardrobe, you can serve a snatched look.

Here are few tips on how to dress classy on a budget:
1.     Know your measurements. Make sure your clothes are fitted to your body size. Get a tailor to take your measurements, so when shopping for clothes you are picking your right sizes.
2.     Know your skin tone. Go for clothes that define your skin tone. This should be done before buying the clothes so you don’t look dull in the clothes that you think are nice, simply because they do not match your skin tone.
3.     Buy clothes that have neutral colors e.g. black, blue, grey, white. These colors should cut across your shirts, ties and trousers. With neutral colors, there is little worry about color-pairing your clothes. Avoid buying colors that are too bright. However, one or two of those colors are just fine.
4.     Your belts and your shoes must match, when buying a shoe, have a belt in mind. Do not wear a black belt with a brown pair of shoes.
5.     Go for leather shoes. Suedes are harder to maintain and more expensive. Leather shoes are better worn with corporate attire.
6.     Dry clean your clothes less frequently because of the harsh chemicals used.
7.   Get a haircut once a week or once in two weeks depending on how fast your hair grows.
8.     Never leave your room with your clothes creased.
9.     Take care of your clothes. You have to love your clothes enough to be able to take care of them. Remember, you do not want to be spending so much money on your clothes, changing them frequently.
10.     Wear cologne always. It doesn’t have to be expensive but it should smell expensive.
