As veterinary medical students, we are always looking towards the future for what is next. While some of us want to go into farming or small and large animal medicine, there are others that wish to follow the path paved by our lecturers and venture into the research sector of veterinary medicine. If this is you, here are five FULLY FUNDED SCHOLARSHIPS to help you achieve your aim:
Chevening Scholarship (UK) : The Chevening Scholarship is an international scholarship scheme which enables students with leadership qualities from over 160 countries and territories to undertake postgraduate study or courses in universities in the United Kingdom. Funding for the scheme comes from the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office and its partner organizations. The Chevening Scholarship is one of the most prestigious scholarships in the world and is very competitive.
Erasmus Mundus Scholarships (UK): The European Union's Erasmus Mundus programme aims to enhance quality in higher education through scholarships and academic co-operation between the EU and the rest of the world. The three main objectives of the programme are linked to the internationalization of students, staff, curricula and research; ensure an influence on the development of practice in Special Education Needs and inclusive education; and to develop international collaborative networks, projects and research.
Foreign Fullbright Scholarship (USA): The Fulbright Program, including the Fulbright–Hays Program, is one of several United States Cultural Exchange Programs with the goal to improve intercultural relations, cultural diplomacy, and intercultural competence between the people of the United States and other countries through the exchange of persons, knowledge, and skills.
Via the program, competitively-selected American citizens including students, scholars, teachers, professionals, scientists and artists may receive scholarships or grants to study, conduct research, teach, or exercise their talents abroad; and citizens of other countries may qualify to do the same in the United States.
Commonwealth Shared Scholarship: The Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP) is an international programme under which Commonwealth governments offer scholarships and fellowships to citizens of other Commonwealth countries. It is a very prestigious scholarship.
Rotary Foundation Global Study Grant (Global):
The Rotary Foundation offers scholarship funding through the Rotary Foundation Global Grants. The scholarships funds graduate-level coursework or research for one to four academic years.
These are opportunities for young graduates who wants to further their studies and it is never too early to prepare for undergraduates who will want to walk this path.
