POEM: THE LAND

 THE LAND

The land is green with pure vegetation of life

The earth is dark with much natural ores yet to be tapped

The skin is also as dark with ideas yet to harness

The land is rich but the people are poor

The land is full, but the people are empty

The skin is tan with undeserved hardship

The aged are sad with regrets of visions and heights unreached

the elderly is weary with burdens of ideas and gifts yet undelivered.

The youths are curious with questions of no answer.

filled with vigor and strength to do,

 yet nothing to do

wandering to and fro seeking for that which has been denied them.

the fortunate few clutching tightly to the peanut they have,

yet not satisfied they seek to attain.

The youths are seeking for a land of which they know exists,

not as though they are father Abraham.

So they move around going somewhere of nowhere.

Up north terrorism is bringing everything down.

Down south high demand and greed is raising everything up.

Should we go up where everything is down

or should we go down where everything is up? - Humility
