REACTIONS OF VETERINARY MEDICAL STUDENTS TOWARDS VIRTUAL LEARNING

It is no longer news that this new normal mode of learning has come to stay and students seem to be getting adapted to it. In fact, I would say some students prefer it. However, on another side of this coin called virtual learning, some students are saying the online class is really stressful and expensive considering the amount spent on data which cannot be overemphasized. I cannot but imagine how preclinical students are coping with their practical especially Anatomy. Here are reactions of some students to the Virtual learning.

Obembe Ayomide Rhoda(DVM 2)

The online class is really stressful and expensive considering the fact that lots of lecture materials are being sent within a short period of time. Also the issue of practical especially Anatomy, I always find it difficult to relate with what the lecturer is trying to explain since we aren't doing practical. Some lecturers have voice over in their materials but some of us do not have laptops hence we won't be able to listen to the lecturers explanations.

Adesanya Aramide(DVM 5)

Online class is the best ever!I I mean, you can just lie in bed with your caprisun instead of rushing to wear skirt because of 8am class.

Fakorede Oluwaseyi(DVM 4)

The online classes have become a new normal because of the Pandemic, ironically it's what the world must embrace. I love it cos learning is flexible, however electrical Power, internet connectivity and subscription are huge challenges for online classes.

Deborah Oládèjì( DVM 3)

The class can hopefully be more interactive and explanative than most lecturers are carrying it out.

Arowolo Adedamola (DVM 3)

it's a welcome development. We as a faculty just have to improve on the way we really take the synchronous and asynchronous classes. Make sure they're balanced and not having one more over the other.

Jemima(DVM 1)

There are two sides to the online classes, both advantages and disadvantages are present. It affords students extra study time since the commute to and from class is absent but it's not particularly effective for explanations in certain aspects. I think it would be nice to have a mix of both online and offline classes in the future.

Ogunyemi Solomon (DVM 4)

The online class is actually cool. I disagree with the fact that it is a distraction. Though there may be network issues in this part of our own world, it is still a good approach. It allows students more time to study and research for stuffs.

Adegbenro Mujeeb Adetayo(DVM 4)

Veraciously, this online class is a mystical enchantment for us. Taking classes from our sundry locations, cutting cost of conveyance, relieve of stress and availing us to read every day more consciously, since the hours for most of the classes are minimized. Notwithstanding, online learning ought to be viewed as a supplement and augmentation of traditional types of learning. Not even all that online course can completely supplant the individual contact with lecturers, or the human relationships that develop in the class. However, physical classes shouldn't be substituted with online based learning.

Terra (DVM 2)

The virtual classes have not been too bad for lectures but there are more to gain if we are doing it alongside physical practical. The best a bird can do in water will always be the second best...

Okewale Toheeb (DVM 2)

Hmmmmmm, The disadvantages are more than the advantages. We have access to materials though without explanation like in physical one. The most challenging part is the Data exhausting and the absence of light parts which lead to missing of classes. Inadequate classes, as at now we haven't started some lectures which won't be the case in physical one. Even, having data sometimes doesn't guarantee your presence in class and this is due to network.
