DR. OLUMIDE OYEBANJI ANNUAL MEMORIAL INTER-FACULTY ORATORY COMPETITION
On Friday, 20th of August, 2021, the annual interfaculty Oratory competition usually held in honour of late Dr Olumide Oyebanji Of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine was held in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Auditorium.
Dr Olumide Oyebanji was a graduate of Veterinary Medicine of the 2007 set, whose tragic demise happened during his NYSC year in the year 2007. He was a renowned speaker who was said to have won several competitions as Veterinary student regarding debate and Oratory challenge. He was known across all spheres of public speaking in the University environment and outside with outstanding performances.
The Oratory competition was established and named after Dr Olumide Oyebanji to immortalize his brilliance and prowess in public speaking.
The Oratory competition tittled "Virtual Learning, the future of our Education" was started by Ogunsesan Nafisat, the representative from the Faculty of Law.
Several faculties were represented amongst faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Science, Technology, Social sciences, Renewable natural resources, Clinical science, Basic medicals and Law.
Brilliant performances from representatives of these faculties and audience could not stop clapping as they all drove home their points.
The winners at the end of the day are:
First position Oyedijo Olanrewaju (Faculty of renewable natural resources)
Second position Michael Barnabas (Faculty of technology)
Third Adesuloye kikelade (Faculty of social sciences) while the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine came 5th position.
The 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions went with a sum of 40,000 , 25,000 and 15,000 naira repectively.
