The anticipated tournament in the world of football, hosted in Qatar, involving 32 countries from across the globe started on Sunday 20th November 2022 with a glamorous opening ceremony.
Qatar and Ecuador kicked off the 2022 FIFA World Cup in style. Ecuador showed urgency and notched a penalty kick goal by Enner Valencia in the 16th minute. Valencia wasn’t done there, as he scored his second goal in the 31st minute. Both teams had chances in the second half but the score would stand at 2-0 in favor of Ecuador.
A day prior to the commencement of the world cup, a picture of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi which is termed "picture of the century" by football lovers across the globe was spotted on the social media, as the two legends were seen playing chess. A lot of controversies have gone round stating the picture was never real but photoshopped, while some others agree Louis Vuitton payed for it to help push its brand. Either ways, Instagram confirmed the picture as the second most liked picture on Instagram. Many have been able to reach a common ground as regards the legends as the greatest footballer of all time. The Association of Veterinary Medical Students University of Ibadan (AVM UI), prepares for the SEAL cup.
The inter departmental SEAL cup is a competition involving every department in the University of Ibadan. The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine is going as a department as represented by the football team of the AVMS. Trainings as scheduled have been ongoing since the information reached the Sport Secretary of the faculty. It was confirmed on monday 18th November that the AVMS team has registered for the competition.
With the hope of getting to play well and win the seal cup, the winner of the CBN cup 2021 DVM1 students and the winner of the AVMS dean's cup, DVM4, have their players registered, dedicated and determined to combine prowess of winning to bring home the seal cup.
The sport secretary, Victor and the captain of the team, Jaxhon, have been up to date with ensuring that everything to bring about a better team as against what the team used to be like in time past is done.
