FASHION

Looking back to how culture stemed out; from personalities, gatherings, beliefs, thought patterns... All these added up to become an accepted way of living, a way of living that has become a standard, influencing people the way they spoke, the food they ate, the clothes they wore and how they gathered in small numbers even in their diversities.

Fashion comes and goes but can always be traced back to the root culture.

What does fashion signify?

Fashion is basically your style. How you want to be addressed. How you want to be singled out as unique! It's normal for you to quote that "as a Veterinary medicine student, your fashion life is dead..." However, I will refute this quote, because fashion goes beyond just combining shirt and pants or blouse and skirt. It is creating a niche with colours and being creative with clothes, as well as accessories. Fashion is creativity.

Finding your niche in fashion starts with you believing that you are smart, beautiful and confident. Just like a bulb lights up the room, your mindset creates a pathway to birth your creativity and finding a niche that works fine for you.

Know your body. This comes with you understanding that certain body shapes go with certain dress patterns. For example as a lady with pear body shape, to accentuate your curves you ought to wear dresses that are slim or define your waistline better to show the beauty of your cloth.

As a vet student dressing under pressure might tweak your idea of fashion and even the most ridiculous colour combination might now appear right. Take time to understand that colour combinations are important aspects of your dressing or even finding a fashion niche. You don't expect to wear red and orange and be feeling confident.

This leads to the next point. Before you try that mad colour combination that already got you doubting, make use of the Internet. Google gat you covered! I personally like to check out colour combinations and how to style clothes online to guide my choice of outfits. I might not have the exact clothes I see on the net but it opens my mind to the possibilities of new combinations with the few clothes I have.

Lastly and most importantly,  you don't have to dress loud. Neither do you need to have many clothes before you get the perfect fashion sense. That "basic top" can go with 2 to 3 pairs of trousers you have. That black pants can stay the 4 tops you think is too casual. All you have to do is arrange them out and pair them with what you have in mind. Also, try clothing hauls in your room once in a while, they sure do help.

Compliment people! The moment you do that, you randomly remember the outfit you saw on someone and you might want to try it out. Check out for trends too. They make you feel in vogue.
