RESULTS RELEASED DURING EASTER

RESULTS OF DVM PART 1 AND DVM IV CLINICAL ANATOMY AND CLINICAL PATHOLOGY RELEASED.

The DVM Degree Part 1 examinations, usually conducted at the end of the preclinicals period for the 300 level students was concluded on the 3rd of February, 2023. The students were ecstatic to have concluded the first phase of their veterinary medical training. They were however also eager to see the results of the examinations, as that would be the determining factor in whether they would move forward seamlessly or not. In the last week of February, 2023, the provisional results were made available as students got to know if they were free to progress with their para clinical studies.

Several students had begun to express concern however, over the delay in the release of the final results. Over a month after the release of the provisional results, as students settled in for the Easter holidays, the final results were made public on the 6th of April, 2023.

According to the Faculty’s records, the class had a population of 67 students, 61 of which sat for the examinations. Of the 61 students who sat for the examinations, 52 passed. 5 students are to write resit examinations across the 3 preclinical courses. 3 students would be repeating preclinicals while one student has failed to withdraw from the Faculty. 11 distinctions were recorded, with 4 each being in Veterinary Anatomy and Veterinary Biochemistry and the other 3 being in Veterinary Physiology. Overall, about 85% of the students who sat for the examinations passed. Eze Joseph Amarachukwu got distinctions in all the 3 courses offered.

The provisional results of Clinical Anatomy and Clinical Pathology have also been made available for the DVM IV, 500 level students. 91 students were examined for both courses. In Clinical Anatomy, 84 students are recorded to have passed while 7 failed. In Clinical Pathology, 63 students passed while 28 failed.
The students who failed at least one course would have to take the resit examinations and will be expecting the announcement of the scheduled dates for the exams.

However, results are said to be provisional as the school Senate has not sat for approval.
