DEAN’S CUP 2023: PUGNA MEDICORUM
As anticipated, the first round of the AVMS UI dean’s cup held on Friday 28th April 2023 on the SUB pitch. The match was opened with a nil-nil draw, after an all defensive ball-play by the 400level team against the defending champion, 500level team.
On the same day, the 600level team proved that they are familiar with winning, having spent 6years playing the dean’s cup by defeating the 300level attacking team 3 goals to 1, also securing maximum 3 points as they top groupA.
On Sunday, the 100level team played their first match of the tournament, defeating 400level, 2 goals to 1, securing a clear 3 point, staying top of group B and qualifying for the semi-finals.
The 200level team, yet to feature in the dean’s cup, had their match against the 600level team postponed by the sport secretary of the AVMS, following their participation in the survival cup final. With this effect, the 200level team is yet to open a match in the dean’s cup for this season.
LOWERVET vs UPPERVET: female category.
On 29th, Saturday April, Uppervet defeated Lowervet by 1 goal to nil, after a remarkable performance by the UpperVet girls. IBK, striker of the UpperVet secured the only goal of the match.
Unlike before, there was turnout of well meaning classmates, both male and females with massive supports and enthusiastic approaches.
