NEWS: JAW WAR: 'We Believe That We'll Win,' Says Deborah, Vet L&D President

It's no news that Jaw War, one of the premier events in UI and the largest public speaking event in Sub-Saharan Africa, will start tomorrow, Tuesday January 30th, 2024. Bants have been exchanged among halls and faculties. The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine is paired with the Faculty of Arts in the Inter-faculty first round on Thursday, February 1st.

Speaking with VNO correspondence, the L&D President, Miss Deborah Oladeji, stressed how they have been striving to claim the crown of this year's Jaw War.

In her words, "We have been engaging in a lot of TDBs, collaborating with various organizations, and reaching out to our immediate alumni to prepare a speech that is concise and supported with facts and figures. We hope to emerge victorious at the end of the day."

She also added, "It will be a privilege to have association members present when we convene to review our speakers and speeches before the competition."

The president further encouraged members of the association to come en masse on the tournament day, as preparations to transport them to the venue will be made.

"People should turn up; there will be a bus to transport them to the venue. We are planning to win this game, and we firmly believe that we will emerge victorious."
