NEWS 'Pastel of Fun: A Robbery on Our Intelligence,' Says Senator Uthman DVM I

Senator Jimoh Uthman, the representative of DVM I in AVMS Hallowed Chamber, has described the last semester picnic organized by AVMS, titled "Pastel of Fun," as a robbery on students' intelligence.

The Senator made this known while commenting on the report of the picnic presented by the social secretary, Eniola Akinola, on Friday, 19th of January in 500L class, Medicine Building, during the senate sitting.

Uthman expressed his displeasure about how the picnic went, describing it as falling short of his expectations and those of many other students. In his words, "I was expecting jollof rice, but unfortunately, I was served assorted meat."

Other senators expressing their dissatisfaction included Senator Bolaji from DVM I, Senator Khairat, and Senator Sakirat from DVM V and DVM III, respectively.

Responding to the allegations, the AVMS social secretary, Eniola, explained the reason for the drastic change in the plan that further disrupted the picnic. She mentioned that many people paid late, and the response regarding the venue's availability was received late as well.

Addressing the matter, AVMS Vice President Abdussalam Fatihah apologized for the picnic falling short of students' expectations. "We wanted it to be a blast that would foster love, but it turned out differently. We see it as a learning process and apologize for our inadequacy."

The AVMS president, discussing the issue of the disrupted picnic, requested the office of the social secretary to broadcast an apology to the students regarding the event.

Furthermore, the house commended Vice President Abdussalam Fatihah on the AVMS Skill-Up program, noting its impact on students' careers now and in the future. Senate President Senator Adewumi Sunday plans to include it as a major event for the subsequent office of the VP.

The sitting ended a few minutes before 7 pm.
