NEWS: VNO Organizes Project Writing Seminar

The Veterinary News Organization has organized a project writing seminar for 500L and 600L students on January 27th, 2024, at the Medicine Building, specifically in the 500L classroom.

The Editor-in-chief Eyinade Sulaimon, in his opening remarks, emphasized the significance of the program for 600-level students, highlighting its role in guiding them towards producing internationally recognized, and journal-publishable projects. He also underscored its preparatory benefits for 500L students.

Dr. Ajani Samuel, the trainer for the seminar from the Department of Theriogenology, meticulously outlined the essential attributes of a standard project, providing practical examples to the students.

Dr. Ajani delved into the intricacies of composing a compelling thesis, emphasizing the importance of crafting a standout title and the severe repercussions of plagiarism.

He stated, "Your title should be concise, meaningful, and attention-grabbing, sparking immediate interest."

Furthermore, he stressed the imperative of avoiding plagiarism and encouraged paraphrasing instead of direct copying.

The session also covered the utilization of AI tools to streamline online research processes and the importance of adhering to UI referencing standards.

The seminar concluded shortly after 5:00pm, with the Editor-in-chief expressing gratitude to the trainer for accepting the invitation and urging attendees to leverage the insights gained during the training.
