Professor Ozegbe delivered his inaugural lecture titled "The Witness: Light at the End of the Tubule" on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at Trenchard Hall.
The event, which commenced at 5:00 PM, was graced by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adebowale Kayode, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Administration and Academic Affairs, Registrar, other leaders of the university, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, faculty staff, and well-wishers.
In his address, Professor Ozegbe expounded on his contributions to the field of reproductive anatomy, utilizing microscopy to elucidate the tubules of male reproductive organs. He also highlighted his pioneering discoveries.
After enumerating several discoveries concerning the testes of birds and his impact on advancing the field, he concluded, "Most of our discoveries are pioneering in avian species."
Furthermore, Professor Ozegbe lamented the absence of electron microscopes in Nigerian institutions, emphasizing the microscope's pivotal role in scientific and technological research. He urged the school management to explore avenues for procuring this essential tool.
He remarked, 'The microscope is undeniably a cornerstone of research and development in science and technology disciplines.'
The program concluded a few minutes before 6:00 PM with the rendition of the school anthem and the National anthem.
