NEWS: Oloye Emerges as UI SU President-Elect

Aweda Bolaji, popularly known as Oloye, has emerged as the next president of the University of Ibadan in the just-concluded election held online today, Saturday, April 20, 2024, between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm.



Bolaji won with 3173 votes against his top opponent, Hammed Erinfolami, who had 1952 votes. Other aspirants, Chineke Ugochukwu and Olamide Oluwaseyi, had 917 and 163 votes respectively.

Aboderin Boluwatife, Vice President aspirant, also won against her opponent, Ajibola Aisha, with 3732 votes to 2405. Ogundipe Dolapo won the position of General Secretary against Olamide Olawale and Samagbeyi Godfrey with 3114 votes to 1356 and 1344 respectively. 


The positions of PRO, Sport Secretary, Assistant general secretary, and Treasurer were unopposed, with the aspirants Olumide Omotayo, Adesina Daniel, Christopher Onuh, and Onyishi Christian winning with 5552, 5859, 5652, and 5544 votes respectively.


The election was said to be free and fair as there was no chaos throughout the period of the election.
