Today, 20th of May, 2024, the newly elected executives of the Association of Veterinary Medical Student(AVMS), University of Ibadan were inaugurated and sworn into office.
The event which held at the 500 level class had in attendance dignitaries across the faculty.
In his final remarks, the outgoing President, Comrade Olayiwola Zacchaeus expressed his gratitude to God, the Subdean and other principal officers of the noble faculty, and his colleagues for their help and unwavering support towards the course of the administration.
He also extended his hand of appreciation to the Senate Council ably led by Senator Sunday Adewunmi for their efforts and contributions towards the success of his administration.
While acknowledging that his administration is not one without its own challenges, he is always willing to lend out a hand of support and advice in any capacity that might be required of him by the current administration.
The outgoing Senate President, Senator Samuel Adewunmi, administered the oath of office on the team. He implored them to abide by the contents of their oath and serve faithfully the good people of the noble faculty with all their hearts.
The incoming president, Comrade Saheed in his own address thanked the outgone administration for their good works and upholding the legacy of AVMS.
In his words "It's a great privilege for me to stand here before you as your new President. Thank you for trusting me and we promise to do our best to serve your best interest. I believe the road would definitely be a rough one, but with our unity, quantifiable and collective efforts, we would navigate the tenure successfully and further sustain the legacy of the association.
The Subdean, Dr. Anifowose who also is standing in place for the Dean and other principal officers of the faculty in his remarks thanked the outgone executives for a job well done.
He advised the new excos to look beyond the titles and take on the cloak of responsibility. In his words "Leadership is all about responsibility".
Further more, he advised them set out their plan and activities as early as possible and always ensure the faculty management is carried along with all of their activities.
Reiterating the President, he urged them to be united and work together.
Dubbed "Team Synergy", they hope that by combining each individual inputs, they'd produce much more result for the benefits of the association and her members. The team and thier portfolios are as follows:
