The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Ibadan is gearing up for a momentous occasion – the 60th anniversary of Veterinary Education and the 53rd Induction Ceremony!
Founded in the 1963/1964 academic session with 9 inaugural students, the Faculty has blossomed into one of the best in the country. Its graduates have made significant contributions in various fields, from livestock production and animal disease control to other vital sectors within Nigeria and internationally.
To commemorate this milestone, the Faculty is planning a week-long celebration from July 29th to August 2nd, 2024. A diverse range of events are on the agenda, including:
- A Rally to kick things off!
- A Fair Gallery
- Career Talks to inspire the next generation of veterinary professionals.
- A visit to a local orphanage.
- Alumni Homecoming event for past graduates to reconnect.
- A symposium.
- A novelty match.
- The grand finale – the 53rd Induction Ceremony!
The euphoria is palpable as the Faculty undergoes renovations in preparation for this grand celebration. Old structures are being revitalized, and the entire building is wearing a new look to reflect the significance of the occasion.
