Saturday, 20th July, 2024, the International Veterinary Students' Association (IVSA)
UNIBADAN chapter held its handing over and award ceremony at the 400-level
classroom, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. The event, anchored by Fatihah
Abdussalam and Enoch Adetoyan, commenced at 11:00 am with the opening ceremony,
followed by recognition and introduction of guests.
Notable guests present at the event include the outgoing IVSA Unibadan president, Mikail Fasanya, IVSA Nigeria national president Saheed Ahmed, supportive graduating member, Yinka Adewole, and Dr. Tayo Ajibade, a lecturer in the Department of Veterinary Physiology.
The Welcome address was delivered by the outgoing president, Mikail Fasanya. In his remarks, he thanked God for helping him and his administration and also extended his appreciation to everyone for their support and contribution in making the tenure successful.
His remarks was followed by reports from Committee Heads and Executives, highlighting achievements, challenges faced during the tenure and recommendations for the next administration.
A goodwill message was delivered by Ahmed Saheed, who represented both the Subdean (UG) and the IVSA National body, conveying their support and well wishes.
The Award ceremony honoured Dr. Tayo Ajibade as a supportive Staff adviser and Dr. Olayinka Anifowose for his immense support towards the organization. Finalists Yinka Adewole, Iwuchukwu Deborah, and Olofinlade Oluwaseyi were also recognised, along with Committee members and heads, including Sharon Adedigba, Babatunde Olowu, Oluwasegun Itakorode, Favour Ajibade, Fatihah Abdussalam and others.
The Executives were not left out of the award ceremony as Lukmon Shoge, Abdulmajeed Isa, Dolapo Oyeyebi, Hellen Adigun, Ojuolape Adeyemi, Abdulbasit Hamza, Enoch Adetoyan, Saheed Ahmed and Mikail Fasanya also went home with awards deservingly of their efforts and commitment towards IVSA.
The incoming president, Isa Abdulmajeed in his inaugural remarks thanked the members for trusting him to saddle the affairs of the organization going forward. He did not fail to acknowledge the efforts of the previous administration and wished them well for the future.
In his words "I am deeply honored and humbled to have been elected as your president. Also, I appreciate the trust, support, and belief we have for the organization, it would be great if we could keep that momentum high so we can achieve more things.
Let's continue to work hand in hand, to ensure we achieve our goals."
