SEALS CUP'24: Hessy's goal secures opening day victory for Vet

Veterinary medicine got a flying start in the SEALS tournament as they condemn the defending champions, Philosophy to an opening day defeat.

Coming into the match, the team were termed "underdogs" as their opponent has consistently proven their footballing prowess over the years in the tournament.

This did not deter the boys as they worked tirelessly all game and showed great resilience, shutting down every attack thrown at them and creating chances of their own to secure victory.

It looked as if Philosophy will win the game, but Vet goalkeeper, Orodin had a stunning performance, singlehandedly keeping his side in the game oftentimes.

With minutes left on the clock, it was Vet who took their chance to lead the game. SAT found Hessy in a pocket of space with the Veteran showing nerve of steel to put his shot away and snatch the three points for the men in white.
