Drums rolling, flags hoisted high, music blaring from speakers amongst other fun fare. The celebration of the 60th anniversary of Veterinary Education in Ibadan has begun on a high note.
The Dean, Professor Ola-Davies, who led dignitaries to the opening ceremony appreciated everyone for gracing the event which marks an important milestone for the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
Present at the event include the Vice - Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Administration, Professor Peter Olapegba, the chaplain of the Chapel of Resurrection, Dr. Oladele, the Chief Imam of the University represented by his deputy, Professor Esan, senior professors, lecturers in the faculty and students.
In his prayers to kickstart the event, the Chief Imam thanked almighty Allah for sustaining the Faculty till this moment and prayed that God continually guide the principal officers and students likewise.
In the same vein, the Chaplain of the Chapel of Resurrection, Dr. Oladele congratulated the whole Faculty for this great achievement.He prayed for the spirit of excellence for the students and wish them success in their sojourn in life.
Professor Olapegba in his own remarks also congratulated the Dean, the senior professors for their contribution to the academic prowess UI is known for.
In his note, testimonies have started coming in as an alumni reached out and donated $120,000 to the Faculty on the occasion of this event.
At the moment, the rally train is heading to the University of Ibadan main gate.
