The King's Presence: NVMCSF holds annual Shepherds worship and christmas carol

The Nigerian Veterinary Medical Christian Student Fellowship(NVMCSF), yesterday, 20th of December, 2024, held her annual Shepherds worship. This year's edition was held alongside the fellowship Christmas carol.

The event themed "The King's Presence" had in attendance staffs, students across the Faculty and the University at large and held at the Faculty auditorium.

The program began on a solemn yet joyous note, with an opening prayer led by one of our students. This was followed by a soul-stirring praise and worship session led by the Shepherd Choir. Their melodies filled the room with an undeniable sense of unity and excitement, setting the perfect tone for the evening.

The Dean, Professor Olufunke Ola-Davies in her short exhortation spoke passionately about the importance of gratitude—thanking God for past blessings, the current year, and the years ahead. Her words resonated deeply with everyone present and were a beautiful reminder of the season's essence.

One of the most surprising and delightful moments of the evening came when our lecturers—yes, those stern and composed figures we all respect and fear a little took to the stage for a special performance. Their singing and dancing not only showcased their hidden talents but also brought an infectious sense of joy to the crowd. Who knew our lecturers had such wonderful voices and rhythmic dance moves? The audience couldn’t help but cheer them on, thoroughly enjoying the rare display of their fun-loving sides.

Then came the AUCSF Choir, who were nothing short of phenomenal. Their energy and passion were contagious, and their performance had everyone on their feet, dancing and clapping. I was a moment of pure celebration and joy, reminding us all of the power of music to bring people together.

As the night progressed, the DVM V group took a more reflective turn with a drama presentation. Their powerful skit taught us a valuable lesson: there is life after vet school, and we should all strive to use our talents to the glory of God. It was a message that left a lasting impression on everyone in the room one of which was pepper soup can replace your position in someone's life.

Finally, the DVM I group wrapped up the performances with a short but heartfelt praise session that left us all wishing it had lasted longer. Their youthful energy and enthusiasm were the perfect way to close the event’s program on a high note.

To add to the excitement, refreshments was provided for all attendees. Guests were treated to biscuits, egg rolls and chilled zobo, adding a sweet and refreshing touch to an already incredible evening.
