Drama however ensured during the course of the electioneering process when an aspirant for the position of AGS, Sharafadeen Abdulazeez(Mighty) was disqualified by the IVMSEC over what they termed "False accusations leveled against the IVMSEC,  disruption of the electoral process, allegedly alongside Abdulazeez Uthman (Industry) and violation of the campaign ban imposed by IVMSEC.

According to Mighty, he alongside his agent went to the Faculty to address the situation of his picture not appearing on the ballot. In response, the IVMSEC chairman claimed a memo was sent out to all candidates in that regard.

He claimed he didn't get any memo, and an aspirant from his class only got the memo around 6am the election morning.

On campaigning, he said the message circulating and also obtained by VNOUI was  necessitated to create awareness as few associates had thought he opted out of the poll due to the absence of his picture on the ballot.

Further speaking, he said "On the disruption of the election process, I do not know if IVMSEC has another meaning for the word "DISRUPTION". Myself and my team members that visited the faculty foyer yesterday did not even touch the rope that served as restriction to where the voting exercise is ongoing. At the point of argument, people were still exercising the franchise.

How do we disrupt an event of the University in presence of the University Security officials and we were allowed to leave that vicinity?"

"My question to IVMSEC is if I had lost the election, what will be the punishment?

I am ready to defend myself in front of the Senate because I believe my mandate will be given back to me as simple majority voted me because they have the trust in me."

As of press time, message sent to the IVMSEC has not been attended to.
