The highly anticipated Seals Cup Competition is back for its 7th edition, with organizers officially announcing the opening of registration on Friday. This year’s registration window runs from May 2 to May 10.
Renowned as
the most prominent inter-departmental sporting event at the University of
Ibadan, the Seals Cup draws massive crowds and is celebrated for its intense
competition and electrifying atmosphere.
Organized by
the Students’ Union Sports Secretary, the tournament will feature both male and
female categories. Male teams are required to pay a registration fee of
₦25,000, while female teams will register with ₦10,000.
A total of
32 male departmental teams and 16 female teams will compete in this year's tournament.
Registration operates on a first-come, first-served basis and may close before
the May 10 deadline if all slots are filled earlier.
The 2025
Seals Cup kicks off on May 21 and is scheduled to run for three weeks.
