Today, 3rd October, the Association of Veterinary Medical Students (AVMS), University of Ibadan, in collaboration with the Exchange office, IVSA Unibadan, hosted the annual cultural day themed "Festival of Tribes".
The event, a celebration of Nigeria’s rich ethnic diversity, drew a notable attendance at the Faculty Auditorium.
Some of the dignitaries present are the Sub-Dean, undergraduate, Dr. Anifowose; Dr. Adeoye of the Department of Veterinary Pharmacology; Dr. Ola of the Department of Veterinary Pathology; Dr. Ada of the Department of Veterinary Medicine.
The festival delivered on its promise of a vibrant cultural showcase. Participants and attendees arrived dressed in an array of traditional Nigerian attires, creating a colorful and lively atmosphere within the venue.
The event also featured various cultural presentations, including traditional dance performances where groups representing different Nigerian ethnic groups took the stage, showcasing indigenous music and dance forms, fashion parade where attendees and student models displayed an assortment of traditional garments and accessories, highlighting the distinct sartorial heritage of various tribes.
The event also provided a platform for participants to share aspects of their specific cultural backgrounds, fostering dialogue and appreciation for the nation's multi-ethnic identity.
